ABSTRACT:

This study aims to determine the factors that influence the degree of underpricing. Factors which are potentially affect underpricing degree that used in this study are firm age, firm size, earnings per share, return on assets, financial leverage, industrial type, return on equity, reputation of underwriter and reputation of auditor. This research use 47 selected samples from all kind of companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange except finance and investment companies during the period of 2008 until 2010 and meet the criterias of this research. The samples are selected by using purposive sampling method. The statistical method used in this research is multiple regressions. The research concluded that firm size, earnings per share and return on assets have influence toward underpricing. On the other hand, the remaining variables that consist of firm age, financial leverage, industrial type, return on equity, reputation of underwriter and reputation of auditor have no influence toward underpricing.
